Taking a Holiday in Austria

by Steve Woodward

Austria is in the heart of Europe and boarded on all sides by several other European and Eastern European countries including Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The capital of this beautiful country is Vienna which is situated beside the River Danube.

But certainly the architecture in the country’s capital Vienna and Salzburg is extremely interesting this country has so much more to offer to those who choose to visit it. Along with its mountains there are lakes and rivers where one can participate in a variety of different outdoor activities from mounting climbing and skiing to kayaking.

The best time of year for visiting Austria will depend on the kind of activities that you would like to be doing whilst there. For those who enjoy hiking and mountain biking then going in the summer is best. Whilst for those who want to have a go at skiing or snowboarding of course the winter months are the ideal time to plan a break to this country.

Generally the warmest weather occurs during the months of April and October, but be prepared and take some warm clothing as occasionally April and October can be slightly colder than the rest. However, if you are someone who has problems with heat avoid the months of July and August as this is when the temperatures can become unbearable. Plus the costs of accommodation etc. generally go up during this month’s as it is the height of the summer season in Austria.

How to cut that Cuban cigar

by Juan Pedro

Rolling Cuban cigars is a process that goes back hundred of years. Cuban cigars have a very long history. The art of producing Cuban cigars has been passed down from generations to generation and has hardly changed.

A good example of this is the cutting process that is involved in getting a cigar prepared to smoke. If you do this properly, you will enjoy a fantastic cigar. If you do it improperly, the cigar will become almost unusable and will be very unpleasant to smoke. Although there are many different methods, here is a little bit about how to cut a cigar.

Once you hold your cigar in your hand, have a look at both of the corners. You’ll notice once is open ended and one actually has a ‘cap’ on it. Now this is the place where you have to make that precise cut so you can draw on your Cuban cigars. Be careful as too deep of a cut can cause the wrapper to unload and than your cigar wont be so pleasurable.

You want to make sure that you never clip this part of the cigar off entirely as it will cause problems with unrolling, something that makes cigar smoking very unpleasant. You only really want to open up the end about 75% which typically leaves plenty of the cap to keep the cigar together properly.

Cuban cigars for beginners

by Trevor Wallace

If you ever catch yourself around hardcore Cuban cigar smokers, you will see the passion each one has for their smokes. I never really bought it until I had my first Cuban cigar. Each Cuban cigar is very unique in it’s own way and smells definitely different. Cuban cigars range from light to strong in taste, the popular ones are actually really strong and you have to work your way up to it. Like Cohibas, Montecristos, Partagas etc. The amazing thing about these cigars is sometimes you’ll feel aromas of chocolate and vanilla and such and the funny thing is none of these things are ever added. It’s just natural beauty of the Cuban tobacco.

Yes their are not that many mild Cuban cigars but the ones like Fonseca are good to get started on. Since the best Cuban cigars are strong, the best thing is to climb up the ladder. Cuban cigars are ranked by other factors too such as gauge size, length and overall construction. Also 99% of the Cuban cigars made in the world are hand rolled. The Cuban tradition of hand rolling cigars goes centuries back and has hardly changed at all.
