The coast of Kenya boasts of a wide array of exciting activities and tourist sites. The regions of Watamu and Malindi offer activities such as water sports, game safaris, excursions to the pristine sandy beaches or even snake safaris.

Ordinarily tourist safaris can be arranged from Malindi or the coast. Parks can be found approximately 2 hour drive away from Malindi. The most outstanding factor about Kenyan Wildlife parks is that they will leave eternal memories engraved in your mind testimony of the adventure you had. There are other activities like –

Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing can be organized at Che Shale, in Watamu. The beach has been blessed with the most ideal conditions for kitesurf learners and expert riders alike. Che Shale hotel offers a range of courses and have professional instructors, equipment, rescue boat and everything you need to learn safely.

Surfing

Malindi is the number one spot on the Kenyan coast for surfing. The outer reefs are a favorite with tourist attraction especially in June through September when the seasonal monsoons bring fantastic beakers. Surfers are advised to bring along their own surfing boards and wax.

Snorkeling and Scuba

The north coast of Kenya is home to top notch diving sites. Diving could be conducted all year round though visibility lessens especially over July and August due to the high seas and silting. The Watamu Marine National park hosts one of the best dive sites. It begins as a shallow coral garden that is superb for learners and opens up to magnificent outer reefs. Sharks, whales and a host of other sea animals are sighted on the outer reefs of the Kenyan coast.

Right now for most Americans money is getting a bit tight. We all still want to have those great family trips that we take every year, but we have to watch how much we spend. Well I just had a great time with my family in New York’s Catskill Mountains that didn’t put us all in the poor house.

I was in the Catskill area with Family for the Christmas Holidays. My younger Sister has three kids. Which makes me an Uncle and I always enjoy spending time with my two Nieces and Nephew, The Youngest is 6 years old and the oldest is 13 years old. Now when the age gap is that far apart it can make finding something they all want to do very difficult. Well We where also looking for something to do that not only the kids but us adults could enjoy as well.

It took some time but my younger Brother came up with the idea of Snow Tubing. It sounded good to me. The Kids loved the idea and so did my Sister, Her Husband and even my Mother. OK so then came the part where the money comes in. I called up Windham Mountain to get their Snow tubing times and rates (http://www.windhammountain.com/mountain/tubing) . When they told me their snow tubing rates I was surprised as they where not too bad $20 a person for two hours $25 for four hours and they had a Friday night special of only $15 dollars from 4pm to 9pm ! Only $15 for Five hours, I was sold as it just happened to be Friday.

We all like to get away from it all once in a while, but some of us feel like we can’t afford it. What with the price of airfare skyrocketing and gas prices getting ridiculous it is no wonder that most of us are putting off our vacations indefinitely.
