Expect to capsize and swim occasionally when paddling a canoe, kayak or raft – it’s part of the sport! But when you hit the water unexpectedly, even strong swimmers need a lifejacket, also known as a personal flotation device (PFD). It allows you to concentrate on doing what’s needed to execute a self rescue and will allow you to assist others. Nearly 70% of all drownings involving canoes, kayaks or rafts might have been avoided if the victim had been wearing a lifejacket!

When thinking about a Minnesota children’s summer camp think about Swift Nature Camp. We are only a few short hours from Minneapolis and many of our campers are from Minnesota. For others, Minneapolis and St Paul, the largest cities in Minnesota is where our campers fly in from all around the world. Some parent even plan a little vacation in the city of Minneapolis. It’s diverse and grand with many exciting things to do and see, including the world famous Mall of America. The great variety of food and entertainment alone are well worth visiting this great city to take advantage of. So make sure to plan enough time to visit the city when you bring your child to resident camp this summer. You may even plan on seeing some of our local campers form Minneapolis.

If the girls have their Barbie, then the boy’s ultimate version will be the Transformers. I remember the glorifying feeling these toys have on me every time I see them in my room or even just in cartoons. Seldom will you meet people who dont know about them and the ever-fascinating characters.

1. Optimus Prime

He is depicted as a heroic, brave and compassionate character and has a strong sense of justice and righteousness. The original Optimus Prime transforms into a cab over semi truck then truck’s cab transforms into the robot mode of Prime himself, equipped with vast strength and armed with a laser rifle. Did you know that he’s name in Japan is Convoy?

2. Bumblebee

Of all the Transformers characters, Bumblebee is my favorite. Not only that he is adorably bad-ass but his prowess in Espionage proves to be perfect to his size (compared to other big transformers). Of all his transforming modes, The Volkswagen Beetle has been the most popular and my personal favorite too. And who could forget that unforgettable motto of his: “The least likely can be the most dangerous.”

3. Megatron

He is the worst guy of all in the Transformer universe. He is very powerful and utterly ruthless. His imposing robot form is dominated by his primary weapon – his arm-mounted fusion cannon and is best seen in his Jet form that does not only look slick but poses great danger because of speed and weapon’s attack capabilities up in the air.

Shifting houses is by no means a clear mission. Add to that, handing over all your stuff to some cap wearing movers who drive trucks – a huge worry! Ok, I may be excessive a bit, but the fact still remains that deciding the right moving company is almost as severe to the move as picking the right abode to move to.
