Spain is a popular destination for many people from northern Europe that are looking for a place to get away from the cold weather of winter. Strangely enough it is just as popular during summer too as many people take their summer holidays in a country that is not too far away put is a perfect contrast to their own countries and pretty much guarantees plenty of sunshine.

So while most people may think of Spain as a place to recharge their batteries on a nice sunny beach, there is much more to the country than that.

Many Things To Do And See

Spain has a rich cultural heritage. Moorish cultural monuments have survived in many of the southern parts of Spain. The two principal Moorish pieces of architecture to see are the Alhambra and the mosque of Cordoba.

Madrid is the capital of Spain. It is located in the center of the country and has many famous attractions. Notably the Museo Prado which features some of the most famous painting you could wish to see. You can spend a whole day and even longer viewing paintings from Goya, Velzquez and Bosch. The Retiro park is another popular spot. The Plaza major is also popular with tourists. If you like football then a visit to the Bernabeu stadium is recommended.

Toledo is another popular visit if you are based in Madrid. It’s about 45 minutes on a train from Madrid. Toledo is a fortified city that features a large castle. It was famous in the middle ages for making swords and armor or knights. It is a popular day trip for tourists nowadays.

Barcelona is the second city of Spain. Barcelona is the principal city of the Catalan region. It is located on the coast but is not far from the Pyrenees so people keen on winter sports can have the best of both worlds. Skiing starts around December through till late March.

The most eye catching aspect of Barcelona is the weird architecture. It is often described as surreal as the structures appear to be melting or comprise odd shapes. The Sagrada Familia church and the park Guell created by Gaudi are the signature pieces of this style of architecture. They attract many people, both local and tourists. La Rambla is another popular focal point. It is a long pedestrianized street that caters to tourists. There are many restaurants and bars on the street or in adjoining streets. There are many street performers and other entertainers to catch your attention.

Other places to check out include Andalusia, the biggest Spanish province and the coast of this part of the country that comprises places such as Cadiz and Malaga as well as Huelva and Almeria and even Granada are truly spectacular.

There are also many islands that are part of Spain. They are popular for beach and party holidays. The Balearic islands, particularly Ibiza, are world famous as a party destination. The Canary Islands are also part of Spain, even though they are some distance form the main land. Again they are popular for tourists hoping to get a bit of sun and beach. They feature some impressive rock formations and landscapes as they are the located on dormant volcanoes.

Learning a bit of Spanish can make your stay in Spain so much better.

When you are trying to get a good feel for what a summer camp is like it is a good idea to check out the Summer camp Blog. Here are just a few things you might find at Swift Nature Camp’s Blog.

Expect to capsize and swim occasionally when paddling a canoe, kayak or raft – it’s part of the sport! But when you hit the water unexpectedly, even strong swimmers need a lifejacket, also known as a personal flotation device (PFD). It allows you to concentrate on doing what’s needed to execute a self rescue and will allow you to assist others. Nearly 70% of all drownings involving canoes, kayaks or rafts might have been avoided if the victim had been wearing a lifejacket!

When thinking about a Minnesota children’s summer camp think about Swift Nature Camp. We are only a few short hours from Minneapolis and many of our campers are from Minnesota. For others, Minneapolis and St Paul, the largest cities in Minnesota is where our campers fly in from all around the world. Some parent even plan a little vacation in the city of Minneapolis. It’s diverse and grand with many exciting things to do and see, including the world famous Mall of America. The great variety of food and entertainment alone are well worth visiting this great city to take advantage of. So make sure to plan enough time to visit the city when you bring your child to resident camp this summer. You may even plan on seeing some of our local campers form Minneapolis.

Catching frogs from camps own beaver pond is a huge camp sport at Swift Nature Camp. it is a challenge too. The big Bull Frogs put up a big battle to free them selves. We even have a favorite bull from the biggest meanest frog of them all JIMBO. Yes he is our mascot and is pictured on this page. Catching frogs is one of favorite things to do at this children’s summer camp. One of the best hunting spots is the lamp poles at night. You see the frogs come up from the pond at night looking for food and all the bugs hanging around the light will do just fine. One might wonder are you eating all these favorite catches. Nope they gan spend on night up at the Nature Center Zoo where they hang with the other animals anc catches then its back to where they were caught at. Next summer, join us for some serious frog catching.

Horses! Enough said. Today’s children often have their first interactions with a horse at summer camp. For most of us living the urban dream it is hard to have enough time in a day or space to own a horse. Yet at camp, children have the opportunity to get back to our American roots and have a relationship with a horse. Yes, a relationship! Horses have personalities, even more so than your family dog. Because they can do so much more, carry you through the woods on trails to places campers have never seen before. Our goal at Swift Nature Camp is to help children build this relationship while understanding basic horse care while learning how to ride.

We at Swift realize the importance that campers feel special while at camp. That is why we have created a special First Timer program for children who have never been to camp. Our goal is to help children feel self confident while quite possibly being your child’s first extended time away from home. We do this by having extra staff on hand for each and every camper needs. We are extremely proud of the fact that during Discovery Camp we limit each cabin size to only 8 campers with 2 staff members. That’s only 72 campers (ages 6-12) and 26 staff members ! We also have an Orientation Day, when campers not only get a tour of the camp, complete with a visit to the Health Center and the Mail Box, but also go to each activity area learning about safety in that activity. Within the cabin our staff works hard to promote a nurturing and harmonious friendships. This starts with a Respect List for all to agree to and sign and each night ends with a bedtime story. Due to the fact that all campers are new to this camp they are all on equal ground right from the start. We encourages each child to learn independence in a safe, age appropriate non-competitive environment. Our twelve day program is the perfect length of time for your first time camper to gain autonomy, leaving their homesickness behind, and feeling comfortable with their new-found independence. For many campers the greatest lesson camp teaches is that they can leave home, return days later and very few things will have changed, especially your love for them. Swift Nature Camp’s Discovery Program is the perfect match for any camper that’s a little concerned about leaving home for the first time. Read More at DISCOVERY CAMP. For additional information on how to pick the perfect camp for your camper see www.SummerCampAdvisor.com

Jeff & Lonnie Lorenz, are Directors of Swift Nature Camp a Non-competitive, Traditional coed overnight summer camp in Wisconsin. Boys and Girls Ages 6-15. enjoy Nature, Animals & Science along with adventure camping.

The economy is in shambles, but luxury family travel expenditure is on the rise. Luxury travel allows people to leave their worries behind and enjoy their little slice of paradise.

In this article, we look at a couple pointers for an excellent luxury family vacation. There are some things to pay attention to, so do your homework before you go!

When traveling abroad, be sure to check if you will be needing any shots before going. Some African, South American and Asian countries require it.

If you want to take any pets with you, plan a long time ahead. It’s an arduous task to take animals abroad and it can take quite a while to get everything sorted out.

Be sure that you select an accommodation that is spacious enough and that provides all the amenities you will need. Your room or luxury vacation house is a great starting point for an excellent luxury vacation. If you’re not sure about anything at all, call ahead and check up.

It’s always a plus to have people around that speak your language. If you’re travelling in the United States, that won’t be a problem. But if you’re squeezing into the silver tube to go to distant lands, you should pick up a little booklet to get the gist of the language.

Planning ahead and good preparation are key to having an excellent luxury vacation. A little preparation goes a long way, and it gives you the pleasure of a worry free vacation.

After a year of hard work you deserve a break and vacation to temper the stress and make some memories to share with friends.

by Kermil J. Fogarth

After a year of hard work you deserve a break and vacation to temper the stress and make some memories to share with friends.

Taking your family along, if you have one, implies the fact that you must consult them when choosing a location. Surprises are always welcomed, but if you have children and you decide to spend your vacation in a city that has nothing fun to offer them, then the surprise turns into a nightmare. Going away from friends, even if for a week, seems to children something that requires an effort, so try and make them want that vacation by offering them exciting new things to do, things that can combine education and pleasure.

Having chosen a location the next thing to consider is the weather. It probably is different there than at home. For example, the mountains tend to be a little cool even in the summer so you should bring along clothing that is appropriate for that kind of weather. On the other hand, if you are going to a tropical or hot location, don’t forget to bring an umbrella. In the tropics though it is summer most of the year, it usually rains every day and you don’t want heavy rains to ruin your vacation.

There are wonderful places to visit all around the world. If budget allows it, you can make a trip around the world to visit the seven worlds wonders, it is always worth it. The Pyramids for instance are mysterious buildings, dated since the ancient Egyptians, enclosing a technology and architecture that can be hardly matched even today. Go and walk through these world wonders to try and elucidate the mystery, to see for yourself the simplicity of the people and the splendor of the country.

Vacations don’t have to mean travel. You can spend time at home relaxing and catching up on lost sleep if you are already too exhausted to travel. Just having friends over, cooking out, relaxing by the pool with the children can make the hard year just over seem like it never happened.

Going on a vacation to exotic places or staying at home require some planning. This can be as exciting as going on the vacation even in the event you merely wind down at home. Taking a vacation should not be as stressful as what it is supposed to relieve.

Since 1988, the Arabian Nights Dinner Show has been a huge attraction, inspiring awe in visitors to Orlando, Florida with each show. This, the ultimate in dinner shows, is staged in the largest indoor equestrian center in the world used for a permanent show.

The tale of Princess Scheherazade in her search for her true love, Prince Khalid, is told in a truly magical production featuring more than 65 horses, breathtaking costumes and thrilling, expert horsemanship. All of this is done with the very latest in lighting, sound and special effects technology. All who have seen it agree that the Arabian Nights Dinner Show is an experience which they will never forget.

The second that you walk into the 1,200 person capacity Palace of Horses, you will be struck speechless by the magical atmosphere as you are taken to your seats, all of which offer spectacular views of the action onstage. Those who love horses will be delighted by the beauty and strength of the Arabian Horses, the charm of the Andalusian horses, the heavy Belgian horses and Percherons. Also featured are Painted horses, reminding one of the Old West and the star of the show – The Black Stallion. Familiar to all of us from films, television and Walter Farley’s books, The Black Stallion has become the symbol of the Arabian Nights Dinner Show – and with good reason; he never fails to impress visitors.

The food at a lot of dinner shows is somewhat lacking. Happily, this is not the case with the Arabian Nights Dinner Show. You can have your choice of Black Angus Chopped Steak, Grilled Chicken Breast, New York Strip Steak or a Primavera Pasta Bowl (which can also be prepared for vegans as well as vegetarians). A fresh, mouthwatering salad is also served as is a wonderful dessert. Bottomless beer, wine or Pepsi products are provided as well. If you have any special dietary requirements, simply notify the venue ahead of time and they can take care of you with no problem.

The Arabian Nights Dinner Show has been in the very capable hands of Mark Galen Miller and his family since the very beginning 20 years ago. The Arabian Nights Dinner Show regularly wins awards for Best Dinner Theater, Best Theme Restaurant, Best Performing Arts Group and Venue along with many others. The show is constantly evolving and new ideas are worked in all the time, keeping guests coming back again and again.

This is one of those very special events that truly appeals to the whole family. The show has variety, magic, spectacle and color – all linked with scintillating choreography and unsurpassable equestrianism. There’s even a chariot race to stir the blood. The undoubted star of the show, though, is the Black Stallion himself, performing a number of amazing cameo roles without a rider or even a halter.

The Arabian Nights Dinner Show is one of the best parts of any visit to Orlando and is one sure to be remembered forever. For an extra ten dollars per visitor, you can get the VIP package which includes a complimentary drink in the VIP lounge and a chance to get backstage and meet the stars before the show. Also included is a free poster and seats in the first three rows, putting you right there in the middle of all the action.

For anyone who enjoys the thrills and spectacle of excellent live theater, the Arabian Nights Dinner Show is clearly the place to go.

If you never learned how to slalom water ski before you became a mother, donat worry: itas not too late. Thereas no rule that says you must be single, svelte (or even blonde) to take waterski lessons! The fact that you have given birth actually means youare probably better qualified for the sport, because anyone who has experienced the pain of labor will hardly notice slapping the water at 40 mph during a waterskiing wipeout!

Itas vital to buy your waterski equipment from an experienced vendor. It doesnat have to be new, but it does have to be well-cared for. Look for a rope that has been stored properly, with no kinks or rips, and a grip that fits your hand comfortably because youall be hanging onto it for dear life when you are learning how to slalom ski. Make sure your skis fit you perfectly and that they are the right size for the kind of skiing youall be doing.

The most important thing to remember before you begin learning how to slalom water ski is something moms already know by heart: safety first. Make sure that you have the best and most appropriate waterski equipment, including skis that fit you, a sturdy rope, a comfortable grip, proper water skiing attire, and a boat with an experienced captain.

Staying safe should be your number one priority. Sure, youare always telling your kids that, but you should heed that advice this time. Either take some lessons or take the time to have an experienced water skier tell you how itas done, especially the hand signals. Once youare out behind the boat no one can hear you, and hand signals become essential.

When you have all your gear, the next step is to make sure you pay attention to your instructor and learn the techniques. This includes the hand signals that youall need to use to communicate with your boat driver, who wonat be able to hear you no matter how loud you yell once youare in the water being towed and heas behind the wheel of the boat.

This is complicated enough without having the driver and skier learning how to do this at the same time. Even with an experienced driver you arenat going to become an amazing skier in one try. Thatas okay. Your kids will be happy that you had the courage to try.

Practice is the only way to get better. You can even practice, in a way, as you wait your turn. You can watch others to see how they did it and get tips from others around you. You should practice your timing and your hand signals.

With enough practice, perseverance, and solid teaching, you can become a slalom mom. The words that every mother utters to her children will come in handy to you, too, as you watch from the lake as your grip bounces away in rush of water ahead of you: aIf at first you donat succeed, try, try again.a

Ok, so you are now entering the state of Kansas and you are dreading the long, flat boring drive where there is nothing to see or do. Well, wake up and look around! Kansas travel has an extremely interesting history, beautiful prairielands, fantastic museums, cultural events and atrractions and the most wonderful people in the midwest! Going from the large cities like Kansas City to the litty bitty towns of Garnett you will find great people and interesting things to do and see.

Small town Kansas is not a joke. There are a large number of very small towns (under 1000 people) in the state. Just look at Selden with a population of 177 as of July 2007. Now, they may be small but these communities have pride! What the smaller towns mean is that there is more open space to be enjoyed. Here people appreciate the land and all that comes with it, from the fabulous farms to the wheat fields and great hunting. There are farms and hunting clubs available in the state for you to try your luck with the pheasants during hunting season. You’ll enjoy the experience.

When you visit Atchison you may want to take a ride on the Haunted Atchison Trolley. Atchison has been dubbed the “Most Haunted Town in Kansas” so in conjunction with this the chamber has offered the trolley tours in September and October. These 1 hour ghost tours leave from the Visitor Information Center in the 1880 AT&SF freight depot. One of the homes on the tour is the McInteer Villa which is said to have numerous ghostly appearances from lights going on in the tower where there is no power to figures appearing in the tower windows and in family photographs or footsteps and other noises on occasion as well as slamming doors. There are quite a number of “haunted” houses on the tour and each has a story of its own to tell.

Near Augusta there is Henry’s Sculpture Hill with its wide array of unique outdoor sculptures, primarily made from steel and/or found objects. Now, this being a private hill the owner has stopped tours for now due to “maintenance, insurance, old age, and attitude, [but] serious buyers who are looking for original steel sculptures are welcome by appointment.” Now doesn’t that just sound like an artist? How neat and fun. If you are looking for something totally different you may want to visit the hill as a “buyer”.

There are times in our lives when being in the Garden of Eden seems like it would be a fabulous way to live. Obviously Dinsmoor of Lucas, Kansas thought so too. Following the Civil War this retired school teacher spent his final 31 years building his Garden of Eden. The “log cabin” was built with limestone logs up to 27 ft long and put together just like a log house would be constructed. None of the windows or doors are the same size to give the house a unique appearance. He then went on to build his garden which contains 113 tons of concrete adn with limestone and tells the history of the world starting with its creation. He gave tours of his 11 room house for years and now, you can see it and enjoy the history even though he has been gone for years! The cost for the tour is just $6 for adults and $1 for children so it is an inexpensive break from traditional sites.

Manhattan has more than college football. There is the great Fort Riley where you can really get to study military history. As part of your learning experience you can visit the last cavalry training stables with its original cobblestone flooring which used to house 76 horses. Today it still houses horses for the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard where 20 head are ready for parade all the time. This facility was built in 1889. This is just one of the many historical sites you can see and learn about while at the Fort. Although today the technology and advancements in military power are constantly being updated, history is still worth learning about.

Take the Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway to see the true color of Kansas. Here the hills are filled with canyons, rolling hills, mesas and buttes in stunning color, right in central Kansas. The red cedar tress add a beautiful touch to the terrain. The land is red because it is full of iron oxide which is actually rust. Get off the paved roads to see the real beauty but keep in mind that this is open range so keep your eyes open for animals.

No one can say that those from Kansas don’t have a sense of humor. In the town of Canton there are two water towers, one Hot and one Cold. Now how many towns do you know that would do that? It’s great to know there is such a place in Kansas!

Are you a timeshare owner looking for some timeshare relief? No matter the reason, getting rid of a timeshare right now can be be a real nightmare! There are plenty of ways that seem like possible solutions to your timeshare problem, but especially in this economy, many of them frankly do not pan out. So, go with a sure thing on your first try and stop wasting valuable time and money.

Timeshare relief can sometimes be near impossible when trying to go it alone. On the other hand, agents in general simply do not live up to their promises. Unfortunately, many charities are turning down offers of timeshare donations because they do not want to become tied down with the associated maintenance fees. Given the bleak prospects of charities being able to sell under the current financial situation, these fees cannot be tolerated.

There are more and more developers who are renting their unused timeshare inventory for less than owners’ annual maintenance fees. This discovery has outraged a great deal of owners. First, the resort itself competes against the owners for renters with discounted rates. Secondly, owners are forced to lower their rent to match offers. Lastly, when you take into account the fact that people can rent significantly cheaper than they can buy, it makes sense that selling a timeshare is a problem.

With the economy as it is today, the average family has no choice but to limit their spending as far as luxuries are concerned, like vacation travel and buying timeshares. Taking this into consideration, it becomes apparent that at present, supply exceeds demand creating a buyer’s market. So, unless you have something significant to offer which sets you apart from the crowd, your chances of finding timeshare relief are slim indeed.

There is still some hope however, even if you have previously tried to part with your timeshare without any success. How? There are some reputable timeshare transfer companies which are willing to offer you needed relief by transferring your timeshare out of your name, thus saving you a lot of time, money and stress. Furthermore, the top companies will even go as far as offering you a guarantee once you’ve agreed to the transaction going ahead.

Sure you paid for your timeshare and it breaks your heart having to dump it. But, if you are honest with yourself, you should agree that there are few reasons, if any, to keep a timeshare that you are not likely to use. By parting with it now, you will save yourself both time and money as you will no longer be responsible for maintenance charges. If your timeshare ownership causes you unnecessary stress and worry, make it a priority to find a reputable timeshare transfer company without any further delay.

If there is one destination that North Carolina can boast of it will most certainly have to be the Outer Banks. This narrow barrier of islands lines about half the coastline of North Carolina and is a popular tourist destination. With its temperate climate and numerous beaches tourists can go camping or just enjoy the sea front towns.

The Outer Banks have a lot to offer which is why people are constantly drawn to it. There are scenic sites, beaches, historic areas, fishing spots, shopping areas, great restaurants and a safe environment. With all these things you will find that people dont only come to the Outer Banks to visit, some of them actually stay for good. Who would not want to be in a place like this for good?

Everyone knows that there can be a fine line between visiting a place and staying there for good. The same goes for Outer Banks. Although you will not find as many opportunities for corporate work here, there are still many other jobs that you can do. What most people lean towards is opening their own businesses.

In terms of finding a home, there are many that you can choose from in Outer Banks. Real estate services can also help you find just what you are looking for. It doesnt matter if what you want is a cottage by the sea or a fancier house a bit further into town; there are plenty to choose from in here.

Just as with other places there can some down sides to living in Outer Banks. One of these is cleaning. Given the amount of sand that there is around youre likely to bring it into your home and drag it onto your carpeting. You will have to make sure that you get a thorough cleaning all the time to eliminate all the sand that you will be bringing in.
